Cemeteries, Ghost Stories & Mysteries

(Philadelphia)
I have always loved history and cemeteries. The photos of cemeteries are ones I've explored in Philadephia, Paris, and Tennessee.

 (Montmartre Cemetery in Paris)

(Exploring a cemetery in Trenton, TN with my dad and daughter.)

I'm also excited to share with you a local author friend of mine, Karen Dustman of Clairitage Press. She publishes books on ghost tales and cemeteries (as well as walking tours) in our area of the Sierra Nevada mountains. She has written a number of interesting books on cemeteries. I find it fascinating that historians like Karen research cemeteries to let the legacy of our loved ones live on.

Karen is currently seeking the help of readers to solve a MYSTERY.  She is trying to get some old photos back to the original owner!

You can read more information about solving her mystery HERE

As soon as I read her post, I remembered that I bought two letters at a garage sale a few years ago. They are over 150 years old!

They are slightly difficult to read, but come with their own mystery. From what I can tell, they were written in 1857 and sent from Lexington, Kentucky.  They have to do with drawing down an account, or requesting payment, and appears in the last sentence to do with a drought ruining the corn crop.

Do you have any interesting mysteries you'd like to share?
